Jeff Ball-sensei began practice in 1976. "I guess having had a father who was a professional boxer meant that I was sure to find something martial to practice though I was never pushed into it. So after having tried practice in several differing dojo's teaching Karate, Judo, and Kung Fu I came across an Aikido class, and was fascinated by the fact that they were teaching martial technique and internal control (which I later learned was called ki). I have never looked back since. I find that every new student has something to teach me, and I try to pass on what I have learned to others. The positive feeling that is present during practice, the feeling of sharing and community, as we all strive to improve our practice, is what underpins all our classes. Aikido and following the spirit of budo is an integral part of my life, and one that is a life long path to follow."
